X ray nondestructive testing identification on cannonball

When the Japan gave in ,a large number of chemical weapons abandoned in our country ,and it creates tremendous threat and destruction on our people’s life  property and ecological environment ,according to incomplete statistics,there are 2 million chemical ammunition were abandoned by Japan in our country ,according to the kinds of poison can be divided into red flare(Benzyl cyanide arsine / Benzyl chloride arsine), yellow flare(mustard gas,louis’s gas mixture) Stimulation, a bomb (phosgene,acetone dimethyl is swollen) and tea play (Hydrocyanic acid). Because of 50years more buried under the ground ,a lot of chemical ammunition has seriously rusted 、out of shape、and even leakage, so it brings a very big difficulty to recycle identify and destroy in the future。At present,there is a effective way that is take advantage of X ray nondestructive detect technology to identify these cannonball, Present internal structure of cannonball in the negative or screen,and according to internal structure of cannonball and relative drawing of abandoned chemical weapon by Japan to judge the kinds and states of cannonball。At present,the OPCW and other country has thought this technology as an important method of identifying chemical weapon。Considering present Chinese identification mainly aim at some suspicious cannonball and identifying new discovery point of cannonball of being found 、haven’t announced and dealt, so as to judge whether it is the chemical weapon abandoned by Japan,and providing reliable evidence。The system should be equipped with :

1) The results of identifying is reliable;

2) The system have to have good maneuverability and environmental suitability,satisfying needs of field determination in different environments

3) The system can identify on 75、90、105mm and so on normal cannonball

4) Adopting real time imagining detecting method and relevant equipment

5) Make sure the operating workers’ security

Based on satisfying basic requirements above.it also should consider :

The system structure is simple ,convenient to install and to use on the scene,normally two people can work in half day (site preparation is not included) 

As far as possible to save expenditure。

1  the system composition and main property

According to technology requirements,the system adopts strong maneuverability on board portable structure 。The main equipment includes :X-ray system、imagine intensifier 、cannonball fixed platform、X-ray  grating、imagine adopting and processing system、radiation instrument、dynamo、transport cart and so on 。The system composition block diagram is showed in picture1.

1.1 X ray system

Adopting highly stable portable X ray machine SMART300HP, its most voltage is 300kv,as well as the most current is 3.0mA, can detect cannonball below 150mm and equipped with chain safety warning device 。

1.2 imagine strengthen machine 

Adopting XRS232 imagine intensifier,the diameter of input screen is 575p×(9’’),system resolution is 39LP/cm,video standard :within 4% ,concentration change is 5-fold, the maximum error is lower than 17, enable to satisfy radon daughter continuous measurement requirement。From the graph 4 can know,under the condition of 2.75L/min sampling with low rate,it still has sensitivity of 0.001249~J/m 。According to some information,environmental radon daughter potential concentration level is normally between 1~0.01sj/m environmental radon daughter daughter balance ratio and its potential concentration is very changeable due to different wind、human activity conditions、 meteorological condition。So the method can satisfy environmental radon daughter potential concentration measurement 。The method requires airflow uniformity when instrument sampling,it has same detecting efficiency on different radon ,if using semiconductor detector ,when detecting instrument,we should choose medium radon daughter balance ratio,and basically keep constant 。If need to further improve sensitivity, then it can increase sampling flow rate or change to use 10 rain sampling time,the latter’ balance is lower,the error will be bigger 。Under 1:0:0 balance ratio,sampling time is 5min,measuring period is 90min,measuring delayed 0min , graph 8 is showing the change of concentration,calculating error is -13.1、-9.0%、-7.7 、9/6、-7.0 respectively ,that means the calculating result is relatively small。The method has been successfully used  

On KF-618 radon/radon daughter continuous measuring instrument developed by nuclear industry and NR-200A radon daughter continuous measuring instrument developed by university of south china。
